The Inauguration of the Civil Engineering Association 2024–25 of Royal College of Engineering & Technology was successfully conducted on 06 October 2025 (Monday) at the college premises with the gracious presence of dignitaries, faculty members, and students.
The programme commenced with a prayer, invoking blessings for the smooth conduct of the event. Immediately after, the Welcome Address was delivered by Ms. Midhuna (S5 CE), Secretary of the Civil Engineering Association, who warmly welcomed the chief guests, faculty, and fellow students.
The Presidential Address was given by Dr. D. Zealakshmi, HOD/CE, highlighting the objectives and vision of the Civil Engineering Association for the academic year. Following this, the Certificate Distribution was carried out by Mr. Anand Sebastian (Senior Scientist & Head, Geospatial Science and Technology Division, IRTC Palakkad). The Announcement of Office Bearers & Association Briefing was made by Mrs. Sreelakshmi M. U., AP-CE, officially presenting the new committee of the association.
The Special Address was delivered by Dr. P. Suresh Venugopal, Principal, RCET inspiring students about importance of being skilled engineers in todays era. The session was officially inaugurated by Mr. Anand Sebastian, who inspired the students with insights into the field of Geospatial Science and Technology, emphasizing its importance in the civil engineering domain.
The event concluded with the Vote of Thanks by Ms. Athulya Krishnan (S5 CE), Joint Secretary of the Civil Engineering Association, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries, faculty members, and students for their valuable presence and support. An interactive session followed by presentation about geospatial investigation tools in UN sustainble goals was conducted. The session outlined about sustainable goals and how GIS is applied in achieving it. Students enthusiastically interacted regarding rainfall data prediction and soil data collection using GIS.
